CWE Cocktail Party
On Saturday, June 8 the CWE Cocktail Party returns! The CWE is home to what many have claimed as the first cocktail party on record — held in 1917 by Mrs. Julius S. Walsh Jr. in her home at 4510 Lindell Boulevard. Each year, the CWE pays tribute to this very important anniversary and celebrates the neighborhood history in style!
Movies On the Plaza: Legally Blonde
"Legally Blonde" follows the journey of Elle Woods, a fashionable & seemingly superficial sorority girl who is determined to win back her ex-boyfriend by getting into Harvard Law School. Despite facing skepticism & ridicule from her peers, Elle surprises everyone, including herself, with her tenacity, intelligence & legal prowess. Through humor, heart & a lot of pink, "Legally Blonde" challenges stereotypes & celebrates the strength & resilience of women.

Join us for STL’s most stunning outdoor cinema experience on Wednesday evening, July 24th of a free, outdoor screening of Hairspray at the Maryland Plaza fountain! Hairspray is a vibrant & energetic musical set in 1960s Baltimore, following the story of Tracy Turnblad, a bubbly & optimistic teenager with dreams of dancing on a local TV dance show. Filled with catchy music, lively dance numbers & a message of acceptance & equality, Hairspray is a joyous celebration of diversity & the power of standing up for what's right.
Movies On the Plaza: American Fiction
Join us for STL’s most stunning outdoor cinema experience on Wednesday, August 21st, a free, outdoor screening of American Fiction at the Maryland Plaza fountain! Based on the 2001 novel “Erasure” by Percival Everett, American Fiction follows a frustrated novelist-professor, Monk, who writes an outlandish satire of stereotypical "Black" books, only for it to be mistaken for serious literature & published to high sales & critical praise. To prove his point, he uses a pen name to write an outlandish Black book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy & the madness he claims to disdain.

A walking wine festival celebrating everyone's favorite pink drink, raising awareness for non-profits empowering women and girls in STL!
CWE Back in Bloom
Warmer weather has arrived, and so have the tulips in the Central West End! We’ll be celebrating with a full day of fun – live music, street performers, face painting and more. There will also be complimentary cotton candy and gourmet popcorn!

Fitness On the Plaza is BACK! back at again! Join lululemon ambassador, Andrea Cox, Saturday, March 30th at 8 a.m. for flow and breakfast. We’ll move through a gentle morning flow focusing on deep breathing, stretching, and grounding. After class stay to enjoy breakfast, networking, shopping. Class is free to attend

The Window Walk is a month-long celebration, with holiday fun each Saturday in December. Visitors are invited to stroll amidst elegantly decorated windows, while shopping at boutiques and enjoying seasonal libations and delicious meals at local restaurants.
Window Walk brings back the time-honored tradition of going downtown to see festive windows, while showcasing the CWE’s retail and dining establishments.
This year, the CID has partnered with 16 St. Louis-area designers who will be decorating storefronts and spreading holiday cheer all throughout the neighborhood.
Visitors can also enjoy FREE holiday festivities, including ice carvings, carriage rides, carolers, live music, street performers, pictures with Santa, s’mores, kettle corn and more!
