Movies On the Plaza: Hairspray

Join us for STL’s most stunning outdoor cinema experience on Wednesday, July 24th for a free, outdoor screening of Hairspray at the Maryland Plaza fountain!

Hairspray is a vibrant & energetic musical set in 1960s Baltimore, following the story of Tracy Turnblad, a bubbly & optimistic teenager with dreams of dancing on a local TV dance show. Despite facing discrimination for her size, Tracy lands a spot on the show & becomes an overnight sensation. Along the way, she fights against racial segregation & advocates for integration on the dance floor, inspiring others to join her cause. Filled with catchy music, lively dance numbers & a message of acceptance & equality, Hairspray is a joyous celebration of diversity & the power of standing up for what's right.
